While in San Francisco last week, Handsome Furs recorded two songs for the amazing La Blogotheque’s video series, which they call Take Away Shows. It appears the blog has traveled stateside and had recently been shooting videos for the likes of Beirut. The furs recorded two songs with La Blogotheque: Dead and Rural and Radio’s Hot Sun. At their show in San Francisco, members of the audience reported that Dan spoke of the video session stating that they filmed outside at an abandoned building that was under construction. Wolf Parade’s month long tour is now over. If you were able to catch a show on the tour, then you heard some of the new songs that the band have been working on for their much anticipated second record. While there is no official word, the rumor is that the new record will be out sometime in March/April. According to Stereogum.com : if you order early enough, you’ll get a silk-screened poster featuring some original Spencer artwork (”a herd of unicorns fighting a winged man-thing,” natch). Available in a limited run of 800, fyi, and not available through the Jagjaguwar pre-order. If all you’ve got nearby is Target, don’t bother, and just try your luck at Insound; they’ll have a small number to give with preorders, too.
