Rumors of a supposed second album from Canadian super trio Swan Lake seem to be more than just talk. In a recent brooklynvegan.com interview, Dan Bejar was asked if it was still possible that Swan Lake would be recording a follow up record in February of this year, to which he replied “It is an extremely distinct probability”. Spencer Krug also talked about recording a new record with Swan Lake in this interview from pitchfork from last October. Sounds good to me.

While I know this is old news, I figured I would post here as a reminder. Sunset Rubdown are nominated for ‘Indie Rock Album of the Year’. Anyone can vote for them, just head over to PlugAwards.com and cast your vote. Voting ends February 8th and winners will be announced March 6th at Terminal 5 in New York City. Also, you should vote for Holy Fuck in the ‘Avant Album of the Year’ catagory. They have opened for Wolf Parade many times and deserve all the praise they get. Congrats to both bands!

The Handsome Furs recorded this video a few months ago and we have been waiting patiently for it to arrive. They perform two songs: “Dead and Rural” and “The Radio’s Hot Sun”. The video was shot in San Francisco and also features the help of Dante Decaro and big Mike on percussion. You can download the audio and the video from this shoot as well!

So I’ve been getting some different information today, and it appears that “Pardon my Blues” may or may not be the title. So here’s hoping we get the scoop soon. Also, reports just came in that some of the recording of the latest record was done aboard a barge the band rented on the St. Lawrence River.

You can read a great interview with Dan at: RadioFreeCanuckistan.blogspot.com. The interview was done in December where Dan said in regards to the new record: “We have two more days of tracking overdubs, and then we’re done. We mix in January and it should be out in March or April.”
