LP4 news is finally here! The 4th Wolf Parade record will be called ‘Cry Cry Cry’ with a release date of October 6th via Sub Pop. The record is already available for pre-order through WolfParade.com. Here is the full tracklisting:

  1. Lazarus Online
  2. You’re Dreaming
  3. Valley Boy
  4. Incantation
  5. Flies on the Sun
  6. Baby Blue
  7. Weaponized
  8. Who Are Ya
  9. Am I am Alien Here
  10. Artificial Life
  11. King of Piss and Paper
    -47 minutes
The first single ‘Valley Boy’ had been played in sets since the shows in February and it’s good to finally have an official title for it. Here’s the video:

From the press release: “Valley Boy,” a Bowie-inflected anthem for which Spencer wrote lyrics after Leonard Cohen died the day before the 2016 election (“The radio’s been playing all your songs, talking about the way you slipped away up the stairs, did you know that it was all gonna go wrong?”). “You’re Dreaming,” also influenced by the election and the spinning shock that followed, is driving, urgent power pop that draws from artists like Tom Petty and what Dan calls one of his “default languages” for writing music. The swirly, synth-heavy crescendo of “Artificial Life” takes on the struggle of artists and at-risk communities (“If the flood should ever come, we’ll be last in the lifeboat”).

So far we don’t have any new tour dates to report. With the exception of the likely leaked October 25th date in Michigan, we have no other solo dates to post. But I’m hoping with the album news out it will mean dates will be released soon!

A few months of news..

Let’s catch up on the last 2 months shall we?

The biggest news being Wolf Parade began to play live again. Starting with a warm up run on Vancouver Island under the name ‘Del Scorcho’ and then continuing with sold out residency runs in New York City and Toronto.

Oh and somewhere in there they performed on Late Nite with Stephen Colbert and on CBC Radio Q

Then the festival dates began with Northside Festival in Brooklyn, and then the band headed to London for their 2 sold out shows at The Scala.

London was followed by a solo show in Helsinki and 3 festival appearances:  Best Kept Secret Festival, Northside Fest – DK, and Body and Soul Festival. Here’s a stream of their set from Best Kept Secret Festival:

Wolf Parade’s next shows are in July. You can see the full list of dates on the tour page. They’ve added a few additional dates in September with no word of a more proper tour just yet. In fact, it looks like Wolf Parade will likely take a break after those September dates until 2017.
