10 days into their North American tour and Wolf Parade are already playing brand new songs. According to a few people who were at the Filmore in San Fransico the other night, the band busted out a brand new song mid set. The song came right at the end of At Mount Zoomer track ‘Bang Your Drum’, so it could just be an extended ending. You can see a clip of it here. Thanks to story for uploading it.
There is a great photo spread/article on the band in the latest issue of the magazine Death and Taxes. The pictures were taken by Susan Moss. You can see those used in the article, as well as outakes on her flickr page. To read the article go here.
Today Wolf Parade are playing Subpop’s 20th anniversary festival. Tomorrow Listening Party are playing at Neumo’s in Seattle with a super secret special guest. On Neumo’s website the secret guest hint is “what animal is menacing to little red riding hood, and hails from Canada”. I wonder what band that could be? For more info go here. Thanks to rleuz for posting this.
Wolf Parade are set to play the first show in support of At Mount Zoomer tomorrow night in Pontiac, Michigan. There have been two more dates added to the end of the tour. Thanks to Tam for posting them:

We got an email the other day from White Whale Records about an upcoming split 7″ featuring Handsome Furs and Swervedriver front man Adam Franklin. Franklin had been performing the Wolf Parade song ‘Shine a Light’ live as a closer to his solo shows. The press release gives full details about how the two acts got connected:
Long-time Swervedriver fan and White Whale founder, Ryder Havdale. Ryder was friends with Dan Boeckner who’d written Shine a Light, and, sure enough, a light went on…. What if Dan would record a Swervedriver track? A quick call was made and, as it turned out, Dan too was a fan of Swervedriver. “When I was 12, if you told me Adam Franklin would cover one of my songs in the future I would have freaked!â€
The 7″ will be released in early summer. To see photos and stream Adam’s version of Shine a Light go here. You can also purchase it now on itunes
